Anushka currently works as a Research Associate at Digital Futures Lab. Her work focuses on issues of Artificial Intelligence (AI), responsible AI, digital rights, and the information ecosystem, with a specific focus on gendered experiences online.
At DFL, she has recently co-authored a study investigating gender bias in the Indian LLM ecosystem. Additionally, she has also examined the online experiences of women, girls, and sex workers in India. Through workshops, she has collated viewpoints on the existing gaps in the digital rights conversation from an intersectional feminist viewpoint that need to be addressed by working with organisations at the intersection of gender and technology. In her upcoming work, she aims to explore the experiences of TFGBV faced by women, gender-diverse individuals, and sex workers in India.
She has previously worked as the Policy Counsel at Internet Freedom Foundation, where her work focussed on issues of surveillance, privacy, data protection, and freedom of expression online. She has done extensive advocacy on issues such as privacy, data protection, right to information, and surveillance during her time at IFF. She has completed her LL.M. and B.A.LL.B. degrees in India.
